The Polaris General XP 1000 boasts one of the most powerful engines in the world of UTVs. But all this power comes at a cost. The more fuel that is burnt in your engine, the more heat it produces. And if left unchecked, this same engine could end up burning your engine inside out. This engine heat can also be seen in your exhaust. Though your engine and exhaust can handle this heat, the other parts of your UTV aren’t built to handle this heat. So, you need to use Polaris General XP 1000 heat shields to contain this excess heat from spreading.
No matter how good your radiator or cooling system is, it can’t stop the heat from spreading. And since UTVs often operate at low speeds, you don’t get enough airflow to dissipate that heat either. Your General exhaust is known to reach temperatures above 1000F, which is more than enough to melt the rest of your General. All it takes is a melted wire or two to send your General haywire. A Polaris General XP 1000 heat shield wrapped around your exhaust will minimize the heat transfer to other components.
